Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to see a psychologist?

No, you do not need a referral to see a psychologist. However, if you wish to claim a rebate from Medicare, you will require a referral and Mental Health Care Plan from your GP.

What can I expect at my first appointment?

The first session is where you and your psychologist will get to know each other. It is your opportunity to discuss what you are struggling with and to get everything off your chest. Your psychologist may gently prompt you with questions to better understand your situation.

Your psychologist may also discuss some objectives and give you some information on the recommended type of therapy that may help you achieve your goals. If time allows, your psychologist may provide you with some basic strategies to work on until your next appointment.

How many sessions will I need?

This question can be difficult to answer as it depends on your circumstances. Some people will be able to achieve their goals with short term therapy (6-10 sessions) whilst others with more complex or chronic conditions may prefer to engage in long term therapy with their psychologist.

When are you available for appointments?

At this stage, appointments are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am - 6pm. If you require an appointment outside of these days, please send through an enquiry as we may be able to accommodate your needs depending on the circumstances.

How can I book an appointment?

You can give us a call, text or email to book your first appointment. We will guide you through the intake process and discuss which rebates you may be eligible for.
